Improves Decision Making and Quality Reporting
Managers
using Realtrac's real-time ERP shop management software
can now receive immediate feedback from shop personnel
concerning what has actually happened during setup
and run operations, including non-conformance quality
reporting. This information assists in meeting QS9000
reporting requirements and becomes a permanent part
of the job record for future reference when running
the same or similar parts.
At
the beginning of a shift, a machinist uses one of
the networked PC's on the shop floor to view a real-time
dispatch list of all jobs queued at and soon to arrive
at his work center, with the priority for each job
displayed in terms of how far it is behind or ahead
of schedule. He selects the job that should be worked
on next and accesses an up to date Job Router showing
the number of parts completed for the current and
prior operations. A blue dot appearing next to the
operation indicates that detailed setup specifications
or operation standards should be viewed along with
any multi-media pictures or drawings. Using a bar
code scanner, touch screen monitor or mouse, the machinist
logs on to the desired operation. When the operation
is completed or at the end of the shift, the Shop
Floor Status screen is viewed showing all work stations
currently active. The machinist clicks on his station
to log off and record his work.
For
security reasons, a shop PC cannot display company
sensitive information and does not allow the changing
of existing data. However, one of the most useful
capabilities of the shop PC is the ability for shop
personnel to provide immediate information that may
affect quality and on-time delivery and how similar
jobs are run.
Nearly

to evaluate costs vs. estimates, profitability and
on-time delivery.
